Setting: sci-fi, spaceship interior

You are a human working in the cargo hull of the transport ship Zdramedda. You are underpaid and understaffed.

You load up the ship, carrying crates, barrels and boxes.

Some of the crates prove heavier than expected which makes your work slower, but your many years of working in similar jobs have made you nothing if not efficient. Cargo safely strapped down and passengers and crew settled, the ships hums and roars as it sets off towards its destination. It is heading to the planet Por'iereien, not that it matters to you, and it will not be making any stops along the way. You will spend the journey in the cargo bay, leaving only to eat in the canteen and sleep in the quarters, all of which are on the lower deck of the ship. You will not see the stars.

You stand around as the ship approaches orbit to make sure none of the cargo falls or gets damaged. Any damages will get docked from your already meagre salaries. The rumbling and rattling of the ships slows to a dull hum indicating that you have left the atmosphere.

None of the cargo moves, but you notice that the lid on one of the crates, one that had given you trouble, seems to have gotten dislodged at some point, maybe when you were carrying it.

You goes over to secure it.

But as you grab onto the lid to push it back into place your hand comes in contact with something wet. You yank your hand away in a panic and with it comes a string of neon blue, almost glowing, gloop. You flail your hand around until it disconnects, dropping on the floor, and wipe your hand on your pants to get any residue off.

The lid of the crate, instead of being put back into place, has been dislodged further, and a slow trail of the blue slime starts pouring down the side. Needless to say you haven't seen anything like this before. Metal crates are not usually the method of storage of choice for loose liquids.

What do you do?
