You grab a crowbar. You know where it is. You use it to pry the box open further then grab at the slimy lid with your hands and pull it up at an angle, just to see. What you see is a metal crate filled the brim with neon blue ooze, and inside that ooze you see the silhouette of a curled up person.

You drop the lid. At the last second you think to catch it before it makes too much noise. You let it drop the rest of the way.
